One of the problems in UPMTW today is determining the amount of carbon brush inventory not consider carbon brush replacement schedule. So the request is not based on the calculation of carbon brush needs for electricity production with investment costs. Based on the history of usage and carbon brush supplies in 2015 are stored in the warehouse of carbon brush as many as 149 units with an inventory value of Rp 219.402.500. It is therefore necessary planning and inventory control carbon brush is optimal based on the pattern data when replacing the carbon brush with a way to test the suitability of the failure distribution, calculate the expected demand of carbon brush, specify the number of economic order quantity, reorder point, expected demand for lead time, safety stock, and total cost of inventory. With Minitab software using analysis goodness of fit Anderson-Darling Test results obtained by testing the data distribution has a failure distribution pattern weibull. Ini berarti bahwa menghasilkan produk yang berkualitas dengan harga yang kompetitif menjadi satu tantangan yang harus mampu ditaklukkan oleh pelaku usaha dewasa ini.</p> <p> Produk atau jasa yang berkualitas adalah yang memenuhi atau melebihi harapan pelanggan dalam delapan dimensi sesuai dengan kriteria Garvin berikut, yaitu : (1) kinerja, (2) estetika, (3) kemudahan perawatan dan perbaikan,(4) fitur, (5) keandalan, (6) tahan lama, (7) kualitaskesesuaian, dan (8) kecocokan penggunaan.</p> <p> Biaya kualitas adalah biaya-biaya yang muncul disebabkan karena produk yang buruk kualitasnya. Definisi ini mengimplikasikan bahwa biaya kualitas berhubungan dengan dua kategori dari kegiatan-kegiatan yang terkait dengan kualitas, yaitu : kegiatan pengendalian dan kegiatan karena kegagalan. Kegiatan pengendalian dilakukan oleh suatu perusahaan untuk mencegah atau mendeteksi kualitas yang buruk. Sedangkan kegiatan karena kegagalan dilakukan oleh perusahaan atau oleh pelanggannya untuk merespon kualitas yang buruk. Feiganbaum mendefinisikan kegiatan-kegiatan yang berhubungan dengan kualitas dengan membaginya menjadi empat kategori biaya kualitas, yaitu: (1) biaya pencegahan (<em>Prevention Cost</em>), (2) biaya penilaian (<em>Appraisal Cost</em>), (3) biaya kegagalan internal (<em>Internal Failure Cost</em>), dan (4) biaya kegagalan eksternal (<em>External Failure cost</em>). Biaya pencegahan terjadi untuk mencegah kualitas yang buruk pada produk atau jasa yang dihasilkan. Sejalan dengan peningkatan biaya pencegahan, diharapkan biaya kegagalan turun.</p> <p> Yang (2008) mengklasifikasikan total manufacturing cost menjadi 33 komponen biaya dalam 5 klasifikasi biaya perencanaan produk baru, pengembangan produk dan desain, usaha memperoleh dan memeriksa kualitas barang yang baru datang, manufaktur proses dan penjulan dan layanan konsumen. Dahlgaard dan Dahlgaard (2002) membahas evolusi biaya kualitas, dari inspeksi dan pengurangan cacat total menuju filosofi manajemen mutu baru, yaitu klasifikasi baru biaya kualitas dengan membuat perbedaan yang lebih jelas antara biaya yang terlihat dan unsur-unsur biaya individu. The workpiece material is SKS3 steel and the electrode is copper. The Taguchi design used in this experiment by varying the peak flow parameters (3A and 6A), pulse on time (Pon = 100μs and 200μs), and pulse off time (Poff = 50μs and 75 μs). Process performance measured here is the material removal rate (MRR) and electrode wear rate (EWR). The experimental results with the Taguchi method indicate that the largest optimal MRR is 4.8530 mm3 / min with setting Flow = 6A, Pon = 100μs and Poff =</em><em>50</em><em>μs. The preparation of investment funds includes the initiation of the project including the collection of field data. Then the acquisition of land, planning and supervision are also included as the components of required investment funds. Financing includes equipment mobilization, material preparation, field work process, and commissioning. Interest on investment funds is also included as expenses. The division of the work phase, the volume of sub-jobs, and the sub-financing is set in curve S. Occupation of employment, absorbtion of investment funds and work scheduling arrangesment dictate the interest rate of investment funds and return on capital. The proposed feasibility study process is then applied to 2500 MW water power electric plan as dam in Sungai Kayan, East Kalimantan Timur. PT. Taisho Pharmaceutical Indonesia manufactures Counterpain, Tempra and Diamond products, where for the company's Tempra product is not able to meet market demand caused by the low of OEE value for 5 months from August 2016 until December 2016 an average of 81,04%. Company at least 85%. As a result the company will experience loss. This study aims to determine the time down time, know the value of OEE, determine the root cause, know the dominant cause factors the high down time and provide action plans to reduce the high time set up and change over. Data collection is done by field method and literature study. Field method is done by observation, interview to production operators, employees, and documentation. In this research, collecting data of production process per week, calculating available rate, performance rate, quality rate, and OEE value. Then, identify the cause of the problem with the ishikawa diagram and trace the cause of failure with FMEA. The results of this study is the high down time will affect the value of the effectiveness of the machine. The analysis is done by looking at the value of Overall Equipment Effectiveness done by processing the production data. Efforts that can be done to reduce down time is to reduce change over time and set up, make SOP, division of tasks between operator and helper. Therefore it is necessary to create an environmentally friendly cable peeler machine, so that the machine can be used properly and safely it is necessary to analyze the engine framework.
